EUROPE, TECHNOLOGY, and HISTORY is a common educational initiative–network in the area of the History of Technology, which is built around bilateral Socrates/Erasmus agreements among its participants.
The EUROPE, TECHNOLOGY, and HISTORY network grew out of scholarly ties developed through the Tensions of Europe experience.
The EUROPE, TECHNOLOGY, and HISTORY network aims at supporting the following actions:
- Exchange of undergraduate and graduate students through Socrates/Erasmus support. Students could use these exchange opportunities to attend courses, to work on a thesis, and to benefit from a specific expertise in the area of History of Technology. This will be facilitated by the regular offering of History of Technology courses that have a common core at the various units.
- Listing of the various History of Technology (and relevant) courses offered at the participating institutions.
- Annual offering of a graduate History of Technology Summer School, which places the emphasis on a European perspective.
- A website that lists areas of expertise of the participating faculty and hosts information about educational activities in the History of Technology in Europe in general
- Faculty exchange among the participating institutions
Interested students may contact a faculty member of their home institution and the institution that they would like to visit.
